  • Office Manager/Human Resources/Law Bookkeeper

    M&P is looking for an Office Manager/Human Resources/ law bookkeeper to join our firm.  The law firm offers a positive energetic environment and a competitive salary to the right candidate.


    Job Description 

    All aspects of Human Resources – Office Management – day-to-day operation of the firm.

     -Liason with IT support-Group Benefits administrator- Payroll(tracking sick days and vacation days) –  Bank reconciliations – year-end reporting to accountants. 

     Supervise clerks and accounting staff. Resolve employee relations issues. 

     Monthly reconciliation of G/L accounts.

     Firm purchases computers and furniture. 

    Confidential Financial issues for the firm. 

     LSO year-end reports,   HST monthly payments. Miscellaneous duties as they occur. Oversee Marketing and website, Visa travel points. Other duties as required.


    Qualifications

    7+ years of Legal Management experience. 

    Knowledge of all aspects of Legal Accounting as per LSO.

     General principles of recruiting. staffing systems

    Experience in managing client databases and legal software

    Ability to multi-task, and prioritize while paying close attention to detail

    Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally interact with all levels of staff/Lawyers and clientele.

    Excellent written and oral skills.

  • Associate Family Law Lawyer

    Full-time position at our Downtown Law Office (University and Adelaide).  


    We are looking for a Family Law Lawyer to join our team. 


    The successful candidate must be in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario with 3.5 years of Family Law experience.

    The candidate must have exceptional communication skills, excellent drafting skills, a superior work ethic, and good knowledge of Family Law Rules, Divorcemate, WORD/Worldox, and PCLaw.

  • Family Law Clerk

    Our Firm is looking for a Family Law Legal Assistant/ Law Clerk to work for two Associates in our firm.


    Primary Duties:

    • Preparing drafting and reviewing legal documents.
    • Prepare affidavit of documents, pleadings briefs and disclosure briefs.
    • Financial Statements
    • Trial preparation
    • Organize and maintain client files preparing files for court
    • Communication with Clients and opposing counsel
    • Transcription of letter, memos, and documents
    • Preparation of Lawyer for court.
    • Closing files than sending them to storage.
    • Reception coverage Schedule and maintain assigned Lawyer’s calendars
    • General and administrative duties as required. Photocopying/filing/binding etc.

    Requirements:

    • Law Clerk Diploma - Minimum 3+years Family Law experience.
    • Solid Knowledge of the Family Law Rules and the Rules of Civil Procedure including Filing Deadlines
    • Strong technical skills-Word, Pc Law, Divorcemate, and Worldox.
    • Experience dealing with the courts and clients.
    • Excellent communication skills, Team player, organized.
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task meet deadlines with high attention to detail.
    • Salary to commensurate with experience and skills.
